About the Residenz an der Bode

The Residenz an der Bode was built in 1994, comprises 32 holiday apartments in total and consists of the two buildings at Harzburger Straße 27b and 27c in Braunlage in the Harz Mountains, at an elevation of around 600 metres. The holiday apartments are privately owned by various owners and are rented out either directly or through holiday apartment agencies.

Using the contact form, you can send a non-binding inquiry to the landlords of all holiday apartments in both buildings. Your contacts are the respective owners or the agencies managing the apartments.

House 27b

At Harzburger Straße 27b, individually furnished two-room holiday apartments and attic apartments are available. Depending on the holiday apartment, amenities include separate living and sleeping areas, a kitchen or kitchenette, and a balcony overlooking the Bode or the surrounding greenery. Couples and families can therefore find a suitable holiday apartment for their stay in Braunlage.

Shared facilities include a ski storage room with ski and snowboard racks and an electrically heated boot dryer. A washing machine and tumble dryer are available in the laundry room—also practical for hiking and cycling clothes during a longer stay.

House 27c

The building at Harzburger Straße 27c is particularly quiet due to its set-back location. It is one of the few buildings in Braunlage with views of the Wurmberg cable car and the ski run down to the valley.

The sauna, modernised in 2024, is especially popular with our guests and is a reason for many to choose House 27c. It is a welcoming place to relax after a hike, a mountain bike or road bike tour, or a day in the snow. A small table tennis room with a midi-size table offers an opportunity for a game in between activities.

A modern Miele washing machine and tumble dryer are available for laundry. Wi-Fi is available throughout the building, and each holiday apartment has its own parking space. The shared ski storage room has an OSMA warm-air ski boot dryer, which dries ski boots particularly effectively and gently.

Both buildings of the residence are located directly beside the Bode. The stream and green spaces shape the surroundings of the property. At the same time, the Wurmberg cable car, the ice rink, and Braunlage town centre with its restaurants, cafés, and shops are all within easy walking distance. This means you can start many activities directly from your holiday apartment.

The residence is a good starting point for a hiking holiday in the Harz Mountains. Hiking trails lead from Braunlage to the Wurmberg and into Harz National Park. Those collecting stamps for the Harzer Wandernadel will find worthwhile destinations at the Wurmberg-Baude with checkpoint 156 or on the Achtermannshöhe with checkpoint 12, for example.

From spring through autumn, the immediate surroundings offer varied opportunities for mountain biking and road cycling. Routes through the Harz mountain landscape combine challenging climbs with expansive views, while the bike park on the Wurmberg provides an additional option for mountain bikers. In winter, alpine winter sports on the Wurmberg and Rathauswiese are joined by cross-country skiing on the Braunlage trails.
